Reflections and rounding up 2019
flections and rounding up 2019
Some days ago before i left Copenhagen and headed for Helsingborg I did a new thing together
with Jeanett (my wife).
We did our own – The Year that passed by – By looking the calendar for 2019 starting in January
and continued through the year. Waou what a year it has been!!!
We highlighted and filled 2 pieces of paper with things that did something special for us in our
businesses and our life.
A wonderful way to round up a year and put some things into perspective indeed.
With an act like that it wasn´t difficult to write these words for my statement of the year.
A year with so much learning and understanding, a year with decisions made to make many
things so much stronger but also a year filled with challenges and strategies to be implemented.
One of the big learnings was that you can´t change and put people into positions they never has asked for.
In one of the businesses we had to skip and fire people who was no longer fit and beneficial anymore, one
of the things that wasn´t easy but needed was that a friendship had grown and therefore made it so
much harder to do it.
Another huge learning was a brand new group of partnerships established for an event.
5 people to work together for the first time on a project was more challenging than I expected.
When I look back and analyze it I did so many mistakes and these will not be repeated, I promise.
I´m now in a position where I can look at my organization and see growth in all of my companies.
What a luxury, even a couple of failures could not destroy the full picture.
BUT when that said I also know that it has been hard work for all the staff, employees and partners
working every single day to make it happen.
I know I am blessed with good people around me.
2020 is getting very close and as I have done the last 8 consecutive year´s I have created
my list of the year with goals for private and business matters.
I have them all in my archive and are really fun to see what was top of mind several years ago when things looked different than today.
One of the thing i really look forward to is a family trip to one of my favorite place in the World.
Edinburgh next year at Christmas with both our sons and their loved ones.
Can´t wait!
I will stop this one now by wishing you all a prosperous and a happy New Year !
Remember time is precious.
See you in 2020, maybe here again or in one of the many events I love to attend and work with.
Here is a little selection of wonderful moments in 2019.
